Chinese music is as old as civilization. Chinese music is very different from the West for its pace, rhythm, tone and embellishment, which give it its distinct sound. This is primarily due to the unique sound and performance style of traditional Chinese musical instruments.
The gong is a percussion instrument. This is a large metal disk (usually bronze) with the generally curved edges inward, which is played with a mallet. The Gong, in general, are suspended vertically from a support.
Most have an elevation in the center, placing the point to be hit and will be the source of the vibration generated by the sound, usually serious and gloomy. The gong can be tuned or not, so it can generate sounds as determined as indeterminate.
